Our plates are within 1% of the stated weight and are programmed with our in-house 6KW Fiber Laser cutters ensuring the highest possible levels of accuracy.
All of our bare metal products are protected with a clear lacquer before shipping. However, we do advise our customers to keep on top of this and not to keep bare metal products in a damp environment or outside where they are exposed to the elements. This will help avoid surface rust.
Surface rust is a natural reaction between the exposed steel and any moisture in the atmosphere. If this occurs, please remove using a wire cloth and re-apply the protective clear lacquer. Please note, surface rust does not deter the structural integrity of the products.
Bare metal products are linished and polished only and are not coated in anything other than the initial protective clear lacquer which we apply in house before shipping the items. Bare metal products may vary in appearance due to the natural markings found across bare steel. Powder coated goods can be customised and coated in a colour of your choice (you can select this upon adding the items to your basket). This gives a more finished look and also offers protection against surface rust.
We offer powder coating as an additional finish if you prefer a more refined look opposed to our bare metal plates which vary in appearance due to the natural markings found in bare steel products.
Powder coating is one of the most common types of paint application, it forms a protective finish that is much harder than conventional paint.
Powder coating is applied electro-statically and then cured under heat over a period of time. Selecting the powder coating option on our products also allows you to choose from a variety of different colour options.
Powder coating completely protects our products from any weathering or corrosion. If you are looking at storing and using our products outside then the powder coating option is essential. Although this protects from any weathering or corrosion, the finish is not indestructible and so we advise customers to use rubber mats when using the equipment to prevent any damages.
